No, this isnt about the quality of my textures, take a look at this ss and im sure you will see what i mean. When the texture of the race track surface is stretched out the white lines at the side are very clear no matter what distance you look at them from, but when the texture is tiled at a smaller size and not stretched, from a distance it becomes a big blurr, not even a long distance either so it really makes the track look rubbish.

In the ss, the end of the straight is the texture stretched out, then around the corner it is tiled to probably a bit smaller than original size, but why is that making it all blurry!?!?

Try :

Load Image "imagename",imagenum,1

The texture flag set to 1 prevents mipmapping (I think anyway).
Anyway try it and see what it does.

im not loading the image though its on a textured x model that im just loading into dbpro.

any ideas?

Try using the SET OBJECT TEXTURE command to disable mip-mapping on the object - I think a mipmap flag value of 0 does it, although I could be wrong.
