My mom's telecom operator has decided to give her a little something for being a platinum member that pays a lot of money They've called her up and said that they'll give her an O2 XDA II pda, unless there's an equivalent model that she prefers better. And since she doesn't really use these things (she can't even bother to read the manual), guess who the gift goes to: Me!

Looks good in most places. Now I just want to know if it can use wav/mp3 formats as ringtones, and if the PC connectivity devices come right out of the box. I've seen some forums with people complaining about the first model, but I have no experience with PDAs so I can't really tell if this is comparable to the first model, or any other pda/phone. Just wondering if there's another equivalent pda/phone that you guys think I should request for instead. My current phone is a N3650, so I've got nothing to sacrifice. Although the 640*480 camera is inferior to some other phones out there, I never really used my 3650 camera that often anyway. I've only got until tomorrow to pick a different model, so convince me now!

XDA 2's are very nice as PDAs, but apparently they're a bit clunky as a phone. You have to open a phone application just to call

No Although I've used a pocket pc connected to a mobile phone (which is really just what an XDA 2 is - without the nasty IR connections). PocketPC works well in terms of email and internet.
