Ok, this thread is going to be for what people think death is like. This is mostly for aethiests because we should have creative ideas(no religious ones). Ok, I'll start off: I think that being dead feels like having sex for eternity(only better).

It's amazing how much TV has raised us. (Bart Simpson)

I think dying is just like sleeping, except u dont dream. You see nothing. You dont see pitch black, you see nothing. NULL. But I bet what it felt like before being born is just like what it feels like after dying.

This sig has been dullified!

Well, nobody can remember the time before they were born, so I'd say you can't truly experience death. It'd be cool if there was an eternal afterlife, where you can choose to remain in Limbo and "haunt" Earth, or go to the true afterlife land. I think each would have it's advantages:

Limbo:
You get to visit places on Earth you couldn't when you were living
You get to ~Occasionally~ haunt a sucker or two
You wouldn't be seperated from your loved ones (well, on your end)

Afterlife Land:
I'd say some sort of eternal happiness
Freedom to all dimensions (not restricted by any of our 4 dimensions)
You wouldn't be restricted by things you were when you were on Earth (gravity, breathing, etc. Ghosts can defy gravity by flying, but I dont think they can survive in space)

I think I'd go to the Afterlife land, although Limbo is tempting.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I think as well because when you're dead your brain doesn't work, your life is over, you never knew you existed, you no longer exist and you can no longer think. It's sort of sad to think that you're over and that you'll no longer think again. I'd prefer not to think about it.

That's why it's sad now, because you realise that you'll never be able to think again.

For that reason I guess the thought of death would be easier for people who have had a bad life, they'd be 'escaping' from it, hence why the suicide rate is so high.

Um...No.

Since you don't know what happens after death, you can't really say it's the last step.

I'm just stating my belief, I'd love it if there was an afterlife, but IMHO I don't think there is.

well, first you rot a little. then depending where you are, certain animals and rot-grub type worms begin to eat you. Then flies lay eggs in you, and maggots grow. You become the host to a million different bacteria species, then you begin to fall apart, literally.

Does that answer it somewhat?

That would mean that its socially acceptable. You see, two negatives make a positive. So, NOT socially UNacceptable really means socially Acceptable. See how that works?

When you die? Brain stops sending messages and body loses co-ordination.

You first slip unconscious, then quickly after that don't come back alive again

Most body cells continue living for a while - hair, nails etc. living upto a few weeks.

That's what happens when you die

When u die, u get to live again by pressing Restart Game, if u did save ur last spot that is.. if not it's Game Over and u have to start back as a baby (according to unknown source)

How I wish, the afterlife is actually spawning back into games, u'll resurrect as a game character according to how good or bad ur were before. I believe my late great-grandmother is now Lara Croft, and I see myself as a random Cuban henchman in future GTA series.

None of your cells continue living, it only appears that your hair and nails grow because the rest of you shrinks!

When you are put on Earth, you are transported from your real body into your human body. Your real body waits for you in Heaven. Each night when you go to sleep, you are required to exercise your real body, and also you are allowed to join in with some activities. Then the memory of those events is overwritten with a dream. The dream though, does have remnants of what you did, hidden inside it. Sometimes you can unscramble it. When you die, you do go to school! You have to be taught about Heaven, and you have to be showed where you went wrong on Earth. As an example, a gambler will be placed in a room, and has to sit at a table with no chair to raise him up. He is given a piece of paper, and asked to draw what he is thinking, but there is no pencil.

"Is there a chair handy?"..he asks.
"And I have no pencil???"...he says.

The guardian angel explains that this is what life is like if all people gamble. The teacher gambled the money to buy pencils, and the school has no chairs because of gambling.

A guardian angel is a person that watches over you during your life on Earth, and then teaches you when you get to Heaven. If the sucessfully make a better person of you they are rewarded. Their aim is to become a Guardian Of Destiny, a G.O.D....God.

After some rehabilitation you may be allowed to join the others in Heaven, or you may be put back on Earth with a different family.

At the moment, it is the Holiday season in Heaven. They are 6 hours behind us, so when you go to sleep at 12, it is 6 in Heaven. This give you time to join them on a day trip away. You can party till 12, and then your body is put in a white van, and you wake up on Earth. Your body is taken back to a hospital bed. White van man has to drive around in a quite stubborn mannor, and that is why this is explained on Earth. There are a lot of things on Earth that are related to Heaven, so that you fit in more easily.

What happens when you die?

Here are my thoughts on the subject

The pre-requisites for my theory:
1 -By Universe I mean an isolated system (broader definition than “our universe” did you forget the black-holes?)
2 -There has to be conservation of energy
3 -”Newtonian time” (not quite
4 -"You"'d have to be constant (Hey, I don't know)

If ”You”(what makes “you” conscious) are just a bunch of particles put together in a certain combination, and there IS conservation of energy in the Universe then you just DON’T die…You do get dispersed and might be put back together , don’t ask me how but it is inevitable (In a isolated system with infinite time all events are not only possible but inevitable the problem is that it might take forever for that to happen.)
Here’s the interesting part, since you’re no longer in one piece then the combination “You” (again the conscious “you”) stops existing until it’s put back together ,this might happen in 10^9 time units from your time of death a given referential but since you weren’t conscious time also stopped “flowing” for you… so, from your referential you’ll never die…

Too many " " and supositions… this is no better than any religious view of death

Here's what happens

If your a good person doing all the right stuff: You rot in the F*cking ground.

If your a bad person doing a buncha sh*t: You rot in the F*cking Ground.

If your semi-evil semi-good: You rot in the f*cking ground.

See a chain yet?

Oh and after you rot in the ground you decompose and you rot some more. Then you smell... then you go through a maggot phase, then some people cry over you beng dead, then 3 months later, nobody could give a sh*t and they start pissing on your grave.

Thats the afterlife for ya... dealing with the same a**holes that were in the life.
