I usually dont post much because it takes up too much of my time (I end up reading all the posts anyway) but i just thought this is too weird.

I for no particular reason was looking at the blitzbasic message boards (im not a traitor) and I noticed how similer the posts were to ours:

heres a 3d chat program just like the one we started:http://blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=36430

except theirs seems farther along.

and in there off topic chat half the boards are about the same stuff like manhunt:http://blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=36683

just thought it was kind of weird. now back to making the greatest game ever: pillsort: the game where you sort pills! oh crap! i forgot about that last game i was making! never mind..ill stop. sorry.

First : Programmers think alike.
Second : I wouldnt be suprised if the same people visited both forums. In fact, one of the other forums i goto has most of the same stuff (they are more of a game modding forum though).

Its what happens, people talk about what is interesting to them.

I have a feeling this post is going to be deleted. But before that I will say: Blitz is not the enemy here, stupidity is. We're all coders, everyone uses the language that they like best. Blitz has its advantages as does DB.

This isn't an anti-Blitz thread though, it's showing that the two communities are actually more alike then you think.

Who cares if you look at the Blitz boards, so do I. I look at the GameDev boards, the garage games boards, the flipcode forums, the Delphi Gamer boards, the Curved Basic boards. It's all the same if you're a game developer.

I look at it occasionaly especially for a good laugh - its annoying that only uses of the basic Basic can only post in the General Discussion area as I would like to put them straight on a few DBPro issues (and advertise both my site and the convention at the same time).

Oooh in the could you DBers that're doing the 3D chat get together with the Biltz team and make an arena where DB and Blitz really can fight to the death?

I would say it would be better if both communities could work hand in hand.

Just an example : The medias .... most of them could be used by DarkBASIC and BlitzBASIC. I believe, that if we could see the work of everyone, it would be much better, because we could use it for our own project, or it could give more inspiration

That's changing very quickly. I think our 3D chat team is doing a nice job.
