I am at a bit of a loss at the moment. I set out to using dark basic to making games, that i know will never be as fast as commercial games, but should surely come maybe.... a little close.

However when using simple commands i am noticing my frame rate to go right down.

Firstly i started using refletion shading for a nice water effect - only to run into problems with this. with objects around had transparent elements (basically they started to vanish) so to elimate this i thought of using a second camera to mirror the landscape - thus giving a similar effect.

however using a second camera hit my Frame rate until it dropped to 40 which was worse than using a hardware shader

Can anyone help.

What should a game run at frame wise anyway - what is the base limit?
