I had no problem finding one using the "Search":

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=30672&b=8

Do a complete look for this guy's posts, as he is running one of the best tuts on RPGs yet as far as I know!

Ummm. Heard people say that the site of the folks that were sorking on "Equilibrium", a sweet-looking RPG that they canceled because it was too much work, had some good tutorials. The site is here:http://www.legion.gibbering.net/mojomagic/news.html. These are the only ones I know of. Oh, and there was some work done actually in-forum of the above tuts (the ones that you said site was down). I have not checked out the tuts at this link. Not even sure they exist, but I am pretty sure I have heard more than a few people mention it.

They have a combat and world map demo on the site for Equilibrium (look for the link to to that game's page in the news, as I don't think that the other games have anything to download).. You should check them out to see what DB is capable of for FF type RPGs.

P.S.- They are having some probs with the web page that the screen may get filled with copies of their page banners. If this happens, copy the URL and then go to another site, then paste the address and go back. You will then be able to see it again!

Hope this helps!
