I'm curious. DrakeX has got a signature file saying basically he doesn't use DBP anymore and hasn't used it for about a year. Query, then, why he stays in the forums? It must be because we are all such wonderful, fascinating, people. Yes? Or No?

Anyway, I'm glad he's around. He adds a much needed slice of sardonic commentary to the smorgasbord that is the TGC forums.

though i won't lie, i like LLRGT better.

....

OK enough of that damn DBP fanboy banner. i'm NOT a DBP fanboy in any way. i haven't used DBP in over a year, and i don't really plan on using it again.

Not to act like the 'voice of Rich' here, but isn't it pretty obvious that it's not his customers? Lee's and Mike's, Rick's from a certain POV, but not Rich's. He deals with the raging masses.

then wouldn't it make sense that he deal with them in a more mature, customer-support kind of way? and he IS being paid to do it!

Seriously though, most answers can be found either looking in the manual (which most people dont), or searching through the forums (which most people dont), or possibly searching on the internet (which most people aren't capable of).

"or searching through the forums"

would be made easier if the search function were (1) in 72 pt. font at the top of every page and (2) did more than search the topic title.

It would also be easier if all the smart people in the world had the time to walk all the... less smart people in the world through things. Or perhaps if angsty 11 year olds obsessed with making MMORPGs in 5 lines were locked up in steel cages until they grew out of it. Unfortunatly, life's rarely easy.

I've long had a secret suspicion, which I am now prepared to air in public, that Rich and DrakeX are in fact two sides of the same person, much in the same way that those medieval pictures used to portray people as having a little saint on one shoulder and a little devil on the other.

I base this on two key factual points:

1. I'm nuts

2. you never see DrakeX and Rich post at the same time ... oooh ...

"If you lost the beard, de-elongated your face just slightly, it would be my face"

actually the elongation is thanks to my webcam which has a fisheye lens lol

"Btw, I've seen you around at CGtalk."

are you MikeS there too?

"Awww.. you think I care what your opinion is. How sweet."

thank you for explaining why we have had no P6 for a year and lee working on another program! apparently customer opinions mean jack sh*t. how sweet.

if you want to get ahead, you have to be BETTER than the competition (i.e. mark sibly, who does what he wants when he wants without any input from customers). the competition being sleazy doesn't mean you're allowed to do the same thing and get away with it - it should make you go "w00t now's our chance to show everyone how awesome we are!".
