In DarkBasic Is It Possable To Make Radar.. Like On The Heads Up Display. That Shows Enemy Position And Their Field Of Vision (Like Metal Gear Solid) If So How Complicated Would It Be

Thanks In Advance

The radar to show the enemies would not be hard, but the field of vision would be a little tougher. It is very do-able though. DB is very flexible. It is not if DB can do it, it's if you can do it. I believe the CodeBase has a sample code of a radar...

Great... Yeah I Always Wanted To Make A Game Like Metal Gear. Dont Worry I Dont Expect To Be Able To do All This Right Away. I Know My Share Of QBasic So I Have A Start On Text.. Maybe Ill Make A 2D Game With Radar And Stuff... Although I Do Have A Concept On Field Of Vision.. Maybe If You Attach A Big Triangular Shaped Model Then Made It Transparent. And If You Collide With It He Notices You .. Thats Probably The Way It Works.. But I Dont Know
Aha then Maybe You Could Get The Position Of The Triangle Thing And Put It Up As A Big Triangle

I really suggest that you program in DB. I used to program in other languages espacially in DIV. I'm only programming in DBP for a few weeks now and I find it a very good program. Compared to DIV, it is very good at graphics and visual effects. On the other hand is DIV better in programming enemys etc. But I really suggest DBP!

Can you get DarkBasic Light? It's just $14.99/9.99GBP. Then, later, when you get some money, you could get the DBL to DBC upgrade kit!

Ummm......
Seriously. You'll see all sorts of cool games coming out, Doom3, Halo2 (pardon the game list, I'm an FPS addict), and you'll see all sorts of cool graphical effects. You'll post in the DB board, "Is such and such an effect possible in DB?" and people will say, "No, but in DBPro you just......."

If that doesn't bother you, then it's worth going cheap so you can spend your money on other game dev tools.
