Can someone explain what a .x model is.. why we use them... and if possible a quick demo of loading them and using them...

There seems to be a lack of decent tutorials which explain this area...

An x model is simply one of the alternative ways of saving a 3D model. Because it is the DirectX format, it is processed more quickly than other formats.

Whether you can create them depends on the export options of your 3D modeller.
