Tell your mother that it is actually one of the top languages used by programmers, so would be an essential purchase for your future career. Not a major lie, as learning any language well would put you in good stead for a programming career.

Either that or sell a kidney.

Cheers

[points and laughs] BUAHAHAH FRESHMAN!!!

Ok laughing aside. Paperoute isnt a bad idea, kidney well...Daz sometimes values money over health [bad daz...bad I told you the results of selling your own kidneys...]

Tell your mom even the makers of major commercial games such as 'Enter the Matrix' have said this is a great product. Tell her that if you ever want to go into the computer industry when you grow up, this is a GREAT starter product.

If all else fails, steal the credit card (Dont really do that)

I find it more effective to sell your neighbor's kidney.

My son draws and sell pictures at school for mad money. He's also mercenary about chores like mowing the lawn and such. You could always try selling models and textures on Turbo Squid or the forth coming Nuclear Glory service.

lemonade stand?

At 15 i worked in a video (vhs) warehouse peeling stickers off cassette tapes getting them ready as bundles for rental stores.

oh man i didnt get much per hour but the perks were good

free videos to watch and all the posters i could stick on my walls roof etc.. i started selling the posters for $2, back then it was a good price, you could get away with $5 - $10 easy now adays.

Oneka,

You are in the USA, it's the tail end of summer.
Go washing cars and motorcycles for people, just go door to door in your neighbourhood if you have to.

Keep it really cheap. Just say $2-$5 for handwashing someones car.
Do an outstanding job, get some income.

before you know it you'll have enough to buy DBPro.

What do you think?

Everything happens for a reason

You could just grab the compo demo and enter a game - there's a few free copies going, you stand a good chance of getting it that way.

good luck with that

It's all just a big scam

It would take quite a long time to build up a userbase that big to make that much money off of an affiliate program

The game competition is probably the best idea. Treat it as a job, have fun, make a killer entry. Given the number of prizes, I safely predict that there will a prize swap thread or two after the prizes are awarded. So, even if you don't get exactly what you need you may find someone with an extra copy that they are willing to trade for.

You can always work on a Scorched Earth platform game combo. That way you'll be learning new skills and writing code that will be goal oriented as well.

Do you have video game stuff to sell? Other than that, I'm with Jokerz. Offer to wash cars for CHEAP. Of course, since you are young, they will hopefully pity you and give you more money. I used to do that when I was your age, and asked for $4. Then, if I did a good job, they would usually give me around $10-15! There was this nice old lady who used to give me $25 every time, even though I kept quoting her $4.

But if you want it NOW, I suggest hocking everything you own!

Sell a game system on ebay for $2.50. When somebody buys it, make the shipping price $480 .

Boy I like that emoticon.

Why not enter the compo? Theres like 10-15 (cant remember exactly) copies to win, if you're an alright coder there are good chances you'll win something - might even be dbpro.
