Can someone please explain how this can work in DBC?
All I need to do is setup a connection to send a few variables back and forth.

You need the enhancement pack (comes with darkmatter) first. DO you have that?

Yeah, he does. And in case you're wondering how I know, I'm his freind and we're doing a few projects together, yet I've lost contact with him over the past 2 weeks or so.
I was wondering as well. I was thinking of a great game I used to have and decided to attempt to remake it in multiplayer, so I'll also be listening.
