k well ive been working on a world generator, nuff said

i tested out using phaelax's memblock matrix and i found that on a very large matrix, the memblocks only acheived about half the framerate

my db matrix, with normalization, and a 2nd matrix for water seems to be significantly faster...

heres a link to the memblock matrix exe
http://mlinux.homeip.net/memmat.exe

and a link to the db one (which looks nicer)
http://mlinux.homeip.net/dbmat.exe

am i just doing something wrong? i thought memblocks would be faster...

exactly how big are you creating it? Even at 200x200 tiles, its faster than a matrix of same size.
I can't test the apps, cause I dont wanna wait for 10mb to d/l at 11kb/s.

yea sorry bout that its hosted at my house...

umm its a very large matrix, 2000x2000 with 257x257 tiles

was just trying to find a way to speed it up, but i thought of a better idea

anyways is there a way of setting the normals for ur memblock matrix?
and what about matrix trim?

thanks man

I never got around to writing the trim function, and there should be a set_matrix_normal() command. I did have a function to automatically configure all the normals, but it didn't work right.
