How can i get rid of my computer connecting to port 5000? thanks. I tried firewalls and i dont recall them warning me about connecting to port 5000. Isn't this a bad port or something? it says 0.0.0.0 is trying to connect. Is this normal? Thank u.

this sounds familiar.

5000 isnt a bad port - there is no such thing as a bad port, just evil programs. If you use a firewall that blocks unsolicited inbound/outbound traffic on all ports you should be fine.

try ZoneAlarm from ZoneLabs - its free

By blocking the port you're removing the symptom, not the problem. If there's crap on your machine transmitting outbound data, you need to get rid of it.

Oooo. Ok, thank u. I'll try to find that program transmitting it. My firewall should list what programs are connected, right? So i just find the one that says Port 5000 and then end that task, right?

It lists it twice as if tehy r both 2 different programs. All the other programs just are listed once. Hmmm...

Isn't this a system process or somethin? WTH is a system program doin with Port 5000?

I disable PNP and it still connects.
