Maybe "freshwater" lake, but the Caspian(sp?) sea is much larger. And I read somewhere that a duck's quack does echo. Also a lot of those are repeats of the same fact. But still, it's quite interesting. My friend had one that said if you count how many times a cricket chirps in 15 seconds and add 37(I think that was the number) you will get the outside temperature in Fahrenheit.

Ducks quacks do echo, it's just the echo and the actual quack are so similar its hard to distinguish between them.

#77 No piece of paper can be folded more then 7 times
I remember seeing a tv program where they folded a massive piece of very thin paper 8 times.
#152 In 1985, the fastest bicyclist was clocked at 154 mph
I´m not sure about this one. The fastest speed is in a mates bike mag. I´ll check sometime, maybe. Wait a mo. That´s in mph so it´s probably true.

Anyone ever seen myth busters?

They tested the Goldfish memory fact.

They showed that Goldfish can learn and remember and appear to debunk that fact of the three second memory.

The test was a little loose and not scientific enough for my taste but was good enough to make you wonder.

[edit]
Not to mention my girlfriends Goldfish will stare at her for long periods (when they are waiting for food mostly.)

Ummmm. Not quite sure I believe that one..
I drink lots of Mountain Dew, but I am not green
Plus, Bush Gardens (or however it is spelled) mentioned that "fact" on a tour I took a long time ago. They said that their flamingos where not fed shrimp and where as pink as any of them!

That is due to the Pentagon, which has over a million phone lines! I learned that when I worked for AT&T because we serviced them! Damn, we got freakin calls all the time about them (I was in the government dept)!!

It is true indirectly. They are pink because of the carotene in their diet, which happens to come from shrimp. Ornamental flamingos will have carotene added to their diet to make them over-pink.
