I made an animated model of a guy running in milkshape3d, and tried exporting it as both OBJ and ASC, but both times, darkbasic classic said the object didn't exist when I tried to load it into the game. What am I doing wrong? is it the form of export? please help, I get most of darkbasic, its just things like this that confuse me...

In MS3D

File > Export > DirectX(JT) <---near the bottom of the list, you need to scroll down.

The settings should be fine, make sure you dont have the interpolated keframes too high or a 100 frame model will turn into a 10,000 frame model, making it a pain to use in DB.

that's great for exporting it, but it didn't seem to recognize the animation. I told it to "loop object 2" but it still wont play the animation. Is there something else I need to know?

Oh, and also, its colorless when I export the model.
so I dunno what to do about that...

It's colorless because you need to texture it yourself.

I'm not sure about the animation, though.

I gave it color in anim8or, then moved it to milkshape and gave it animation, and when I moved it out of milkshape, it no longer had color. Is it because I used milkshape?

no, it's because the color is just something the modeling program puts in to make it look better before you texture it.
