So basically the storyline is you're a dude who just came out of college, and you have to walk around the city and try to like make cash, get a job, earn a living, etc. The game is doing pretty good, but is lacking a name right now . Any ideas? I was think something along the lines of "Bachelor" something, something like that. But i was thinking of adding a feature in the game where you can get married...not sure yet though.

Thanks!

No i wasn't trying to bash your concept i was just thinking, a guy that went to college a) has no job, b) is walking cause he has no car, is a loser, not you or your concept the character in the game.
Sorry if i offended you that wasn't my intention.

To be perfectly honest, I think Loser would be a kinda cool title for a game like that.
It's different, and it immediately stands out..
It lets you make the game a little more fun as well instead of being too rigid and serious.

That is of course unless you are looking for a rigid and serious type game..

Everything happens for a reason

haha okay, its cool. Well anyways i didnt really type out the whole entire storyline. About the car, you start out with some money, and YOU CHOOSE the car you want to buy . If you want like a real nice car you can get a loan from the bank so you can pay for it .

As for the title "Loser" ... lol maybe

Thanks!

Depending upon the theme of your game "LOSER" might be a good name. If it's full of dry sardonic humor then "LOSER" would be perfect.

If it's more friendly then something good might be something suggesting making a new start, "Fresh", "Grad On the Go", (I suck at names btw).

Maybe you could preted it was made in china then have a really sh!tty name like "Man in City" and blame it on the translation. Here's a few:

Humourous
-Broke
-I.O.U.
-Got Change?(might be good for a bum game)

Serious
[Error 204: I suck at being serious]

Happy
-Life after College

It's amazing how much TV has raised us. (Bart Simpson)

Got Change sounds good lol. maybe he isnt a bum...but thats not a bad idea anyway. by the way, this definetly isnt serious, so anything humorous is great

Grad on the Go, thats a good one. Maybe Grad student on the go...grad on the go phonically sounds a little...wierd. Thanks...ill consider!

Well, can you also tell the main goal of the game ? How can we win ?

Maybe that helps to find a title.

call it, "Ive just left college and need a job"
call it, "Work for Food"
call it, "hamsters on ice"
call it, "beagle snot"
call it, "dribble shoe thingy mabob"

seriously tho perhaps call it "ppl" short for people, the crux of your game and an acronym for people.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself

Change that to failed out of college and you can call it the story of my life.

How about, "Get a Life!", "Life with Skip" (or Chip, assuming a feel good game like the Sims), "Road to Ruin" or "Life with Murphy" (assuming that it is a game where a lot of bad luck things happen to you.)

If your goal is to develop a philosophical accomplishment, "Karmic Journey" or "Good Sam" (short for good samaritan) would be OK.

LOL. how about "w00t w00t!" Ill consider that too NB, thanks man.

@ damokles - There is no storyline really, you cant exactly win, just go around doing fun stuff.

@ videogamealholic - Thats not a bad idea, but i was trying to like make so that in the beginning you could like add intelligence points, or skill points, etc. Or maybe not...less programming for me !

Thanks a lot for the responses guys

Renaissance Man

Definition: a modern scholar who is in a position to acquire more than superficial knowledge about many different interests; "a statistician has to be something of a generalist"

I know the definition doesn't really fit, but I think it has a good ring to it!

Yep... I needed something ultra-simple (NO AI) for my first ever game... so yeah. There's no point seeing a demo right now, there isnt much to the game... as of yet . 1200 lines really isnt much

My fly-around-a-mountain game is only 200 lines(minus the editors and news thingy). I'm working on adding a bonus.

Offtopic: How do you get a object with a texture, set to mode 2, with an alpha layer, above a reflection shaded object not to disappear when the camera is looking at both the reflection and the object.
It's visable on the terrain but not the reflective water.
Should I post a ss?
