UGH, If that's the movie I think you're thinking of, then that's just sick.

Isn't it the one where they wheel out the elderly people from the old folks home and the drivers get extra points for PLOWING them? And isn't there already a game like that?

Dumbest, stupidest and most disgusting movie I've ever heard of. Thank god I haven't had to watch it.

AH! so you havent seen it!, maybe you should before you pass judgement, it`s the sort of movie that makes The Running Man look like a serious social commentary (yes...I am aware there are some people who think running man was a serious social commentary, you can hardly blame me for all the simple minded people in this world ...esp the ones that don`t get out much )

I've seen it, I saw it back when it came out. What was it, late 80's?

Anyway, it was meant as a satire about our obsession with athletes. You should watch the movie before you judge it. I'm sure there are some sites that promote it as a comedy, and it is in a way, but it was meant as more than that.

[edit]Ah, I see I was wrong, it was the late 70's![/edit]

lol, I thought that movie was halarious.

@ Jimmy,
He didnt run over the old people though. If you watched the movie he makes the turn and runs over the nurses that placed the old people in the road instead.

Ahh yeah, I think I remember that now, I did actually see it, but it was one of those 3:00 AM movies they show on TV, so my memory is a little... vague

I'll admit it was interesting, but I was younger then, so I couldn't pick up on any real purpose or meaning for the film

AH! thats probably cos there wasn`t realy one, it was one of those films that whatever it was supposed to be about it was just so bad it was funny, I remember they had to drive the cars in the film at about 20mph or things started to fall off em or they got uncontrolable, then they sped the film up afterwards to make it look like they where going fast, it`s something to watch back to back with Santa Claus conquers the Martians or Barbarella , or as my grandad would say <adopts Yorkshire accent> "daft I calls it!, just plain daft!"

If it's anything like Starship Troopers (violent and largely meaningless supposedly clever social commentary) I'd hate it...

Yep, that sounds like a true winner. I wonder why it didn't win any awards...

Grief, they are only films. Have a beer, and stop shooting people for fun when playing the millions of FPS games out there if your heart bleeds so much.

It's the blurring of the line between reality and fantasy I find is inappropriate. And I wasn't attacking the film for its gore anyways, I was saying it probably wasn't a good social commentary if it was anything like Starship Troopers.
