hello again

i don't know whats going on but my 3d object now looks lifeless since i textured it.

b4 i did texture it, it was a grey-white colour and u could see where the light was comming from.

now it looks like a badly coloured cartoon..lol

do i need to add a light to the game aswell as having the one that is part of the world?

chears

There are many things to do to make objects look better. You could try using shaders (see this thread for more info and downloads: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&b=1&t=28992&p=0)

You can apply bumpmapping, normal mapping, etc... to get better objects.

Could you post a picture please?

Hope that helps!

@DLS what setting is your ambient light on? try setting it higher, say 75 or so. you could always make the game darker later by using fog

Have you tried this?

SET OBJECT LIGHT
This command will set the light state of the specified object. Setting the light to one will ensure the object is affected by any lights in the 3D scene. If the object uses diffuse based colour, deactivating the light source will also deactivate the ability of the object to show its colour as it uses the light to calculate the diffuse result.

SYNTAX
SET OBJECT LIGHT Object Number, Flag
