... then check out these Pain Killer vids.

Despite me whinging like a little girl about the chapter 2 boss in Pain Killer, the rest of the game is superb, as I'm sure anyone here who has played it will agree. So I took some time out to have some fun and make a few superquick fraps vids. One in the Town level, with all the zombies, staking them to walls with the stake gun, and the other on the ice bridge level, shooting up ninjas. Definitely worth checking out.

Zombie Town - http://www.invisiblechainsaw.com/temp/PainKiller2.avi (800Kb)
Ninja Bridge - http://www.invisiblechainsaw.com/temp/PainKiller3.avi (1.4Mb)

DivX 5 required.

Sorry they're slowed right down, but as soon as you hit record on fraps, the frame rate plummets. I sped them up a bit in Premier to compensate a little on the bridge level. Still well worth the watch, and they still don't do the game justice. Enjoy.

You need DivX 5. I tried other codecs, but they're all at least twice the filesize, and I'm on dial-up, so had to keep the files small.

That looks pretty darn cool . Min specs way too high though, even after I upgrade my video card and RAM it'd probably run poorly. Oh well...

I didn't check the stats when I bought it, but I have a P4 2.2, 1GIG FX5600. I get slow down on some of the complex areas. When there are about 10 people flying around with the havoc ragdoll physics and barrels exploding in a chain reaction etc. it does crawl, but it doesn't jerk which is nice. When it slows down, instead of the usual jerky screen, it just smoothly slows down, like you're playing in slow motion, which is almost fun. Bizzare, but it's the best slow down ever.

Here are a bunch of screenies from the levels I've visited so far:

I got a link to this game from the DirectX sdk download site, thinking what the heck is painkiller? A tylenol game(lol JeBuS)?

This game rocks. I like Doom3's visuals, but Painkiller beats it to a bloody pulp in gameplay. I love that wooden pole launcher. I just stand around dead bodies launching poles into them and watching them twitch......
