1. Are there any free utilities to do this?
2. Does the HTML need to be in any particular format?

Microsoft has a free utility. HTML Help Workshop

Do a search for it.

Microsoft do a free CHM creator - unfortunately I cant remember exactly what its called...

Have a look on their site.

HTML help workshop, as suggested, is the way to go.

Just assemble your pages and it's relatively straightforward to import them and generate an index.

Get 15 new commands, all the date / time commands left out of DBPro for free!
DOWNLOAD PLUGINS HERE: http://www.davidtattersall.me.uk/ and select "DarkBasic"
