I am a newcomer to the DarkBasic software. My school has just recieved it and I'm extremely excited about programming games. But, I'm not sure what software to get for 3D Modeling and Sound to add to my games. I am already deep into learning the programming language, and I just need to figure out what to use to create my own music and 3D designs. Thanks

There's also a massive thread at the top of this with a whole ton of links.

For 3d I recommend these:
GameSpace (or light if you're short $300)
Milkshape3d(really nice for just $25)

For music I recommend these:
Sibelius 3(if you've got the money and know music theory this is it)
Fruity Loops(from $50-$150, excellent, has generators, a step sequencer, create patterns and arrange them into a song, midi support)

Fruity Loops Studio is out, there's a demo that has a lot of functionality, no saving, but you can export MP3's.

Really any music package that can spurt out MP3's is what your after.

You should look into DeleD too, good for making level objects.

Is gmax or 3D Studio Max good software for 3D models? Also, are there any free Music Makers out there that would be good to use?

If you can get the ogg dll, then it would be a good idea to export your work to wav, then compress it to ogg. Ogg sounds so much better than mp3. Audacity(open source) can convert to ogg.

GMax and 3DS Max (3d studio max, whatever) are pretty much, in my humble opinion, THE BEST. GMax is free (50mb download tho) and intended for people to do stuff in, dunno it's capabilities.

3DS Max costs £3000 (i'm in UK, soz) [edit: legally) but is *THE*B E S T.

Period.

the only problem with gmax is exporting, if you use the MS Flight Sim exporter and get it working in DB then you are a lucky lucky man.
