Hi, this didn't seem to fall into any of the other forums... er...

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good video capture programs, that could be used to take videos of DBpro games in action. I have found one such thing, costing about $30 http://www.fraps.com/

I'm not dismissing that cos of the cost, that's fairly reasonable I guess, but it's stupid to purchase the first program you find. So... anyone know of any free/cheap programs that will do this that they recommend, or does anyone know if fraps is any good?

cam studio
will run on almost anything and don't use tons of cpu or ranm
records in real time and is free forgot where i got it goto google and do a search for it

I use FRAPS and it has more function then video capture (benchmarking, FPS... ect) so i would definitly suggest it.

Last time i used there free verison there was no trail period but it did have a hypercam watermark on the top left of the screen it was very small that was version 1.0 or something there now up to 2.1 so i dunno about this one, if your just using it show off some work and don't mind a watermark there you could try it, there full version but i think it's around $40 though.

edited: yeah i just downloaded the new one, its not limited in anyway except for the very small watermark at the top left you can use select range button and just make the area you want to copy slighty larger so it doesn't impead with the video your capturing.

I'll second http://www.virtualdub.org/. It can also convert sequential bitmaps into a movie. So, you could add a screen dump feature to your game and then assemble the frames into a movie.
