Hi,

Whenever I compile any of the enhancement demo programs I get a pop up with the following info -

Command in DLL command-table duplicated (Enhancements.dll:GET DISPLAY WIDTH)
Command in DLL command-table duplicated (Enhancements.dll:GET DISPLAY HEIGHT)

If I hit ok it continues and I can run the programs (so far, apart from Speech which gives me an error),

I'm running DBP 5.6 (although IDE says 5.5, but I have the 5.6 readme, so guess that's an upgrade bug), Win98SE, desktop res at 1600x1200, I have DX9.0b, not 9.0c, so that may be the issue (but I'm also on a 56k so I can't get to 9.0c easily just yet)!

It may just be the DX thing, but I thought I'd check before posting this in the bug forum incase anyone else gets this behaviour.

Cheers in advance...

Can you let me know the contents of your "Compiler\plugins-licensed" and "Compiler\plugins-user" folders. It's possible you have a conflicting DLL. Do you have any other custom DLLs installed that have the same commands?

It sounds like you might have my Extend1 plug-in. If you do, you'll need to remove it I'm afraid

Hi,

In \plugins-licenced I have...

AdvancedTerrain.dll
AdvancedTerrain.loc
EnhancementsOV.dll
Enhancements.dll
EnhancementsOV.loc
Enhancements.loc

In \plugins-user I have...

MakeGame.dll
MakeGame.bat
Memory.dll
MakeGame.txt
Speech.dll
Math.dll
Matrix1Utility.dll
EZrotate.dll
DBP-Tok.dll
csmimport.dll
NDB.dll

If I move Matrix1Utility.dll out, and the message goes away, so thats cool (in a way?!) - thanks for the workaround.

However, when running the Speech example, I get a less friendly dialog with a runtime error 10 - any ideas?

p.s. looks like the 5_6 upgrade has 2 issues, 1) doesn't update the version number in the IDE about box, and 2) for me at least, its splatted my file assocations for .dbpro files.

p.p.s. DX9.0c crawling its way down to me now.

Cheers,

Hi,

I am indeed (Win98SE for the next 1/2 months), I didn't realise the commands prereq'd the voice stuff, so looks like I don't have the Voice API installed (I ran 'get voice api()' and it returned a zero), doh.

I kinda hoped it would be an 'out of the box' solution for speech. Bit of a holy grail in the text-to-speech world, on PC's at least Long live 'say' !!

I'll track down the other bits I need to download to get the demo working.

Cheers.
