on the main page befor entering the forum there is links at the top as you should know. i was wondering could you put the links on the forum as well as there is nothing worse than having to retype the address in the top or pressing the back space multiple times.

Any spelling mistakes are totally In tensional.

Moved to general talk.

The speech bubble link on the top bar takes you to the forum.

Perhaps there should be a big arrow pointing to the speech bubble, saying "This enters the forums", for those who dont leave the mouse over icons long enough for the tooltip to show...

I admit when I first saw the new site I couldn't work out how to navigate it at all

It slowly growed on me Although not having the dropdowns at the top anymore isn't helpful

You probably posted it in the wrong thread or it didn't work for some odd reason, it's happened to me before.

Perhaps he posted at the exact moment you were moving the thread, causing his post to vaporize into the mysts of cyberspace?

The nav bar used to be across the top. There was a minor discussion, and it was removed to free up more space for the forum itself.

Like Van B says, it's only an extra click away, use the logo.

If you also want to keep the forums open, press CTRL + N first in IE. Or get CrazyBrowser, the internet freak's best friend. Look, I have 10 TGC browsers open in one tabbed window! And I can open every forum in one click using groups...

As recommended by Rich. A bit too much. He's even put the "Get Firefox" link down the very bottom right

except firefox doesn't work with every site, thanks to the Marketing engine that is Microsoft.

I use Firefox where I can, and Crazy Browser for everything else. Crazy Browser is just a wraparound for IE

Trouble is Crazy Browser re-adjusts the icon sizes when the IE window opens - rather naughty. Plus, it doesn't have the option for re-sizing them.

Which sites? The only problem I've ever had is with Gamespot, but a quick email to the editors got the bug fixed.

Well IMO I just get lost when going around this developer network stuff

I would have thought that the developer network would have had its own nav bar along the top - it seems odd to me that the dev network is such an integral aprt of the site yet it is a bit hard to find.

Also - just wondering about te flash thing at the top. Is it actually useful (no offence)? I'd prefer the old nav bar, it gave the forums a more integrated feel.

The nav bar is gone because we don't need all that extra JS loading up each time, it's simply faster this way.

Could you place more prominence to the developer network?

It's a fairly major part of the site, yet it's stuck at the bottom of a menu that's only visible once expanded.

Maybe you could give it its own top level menu, and have links to dev diaries etc.

I work with Thin Client development. You must go with one flavour of browser, the complexities are just too overwhelming, especially parsing XML into user-friendly screens. When the majority of your customers have IE, you get taken down that path.

I think if we have to have the flashy thing that we should be able to click on it and it would brign us to the highlighted topic.

Got anime?I do.
