Hey guys, I'm new to the fourm, but I've had DarkBasic for several months now, and the sad thing is, I hardly know anything. I've done a couple of 2D things, experimented with matrices, And done a little 3D programming, but I'm still not as advanced as anyone else here, so I'm probably going to be the odd man out.

Anyway, the reason I came on here is that, since the lack of understandable DarkBasic tutorials (I'm the guy who needs step by step instruction, not a code sample), it would be a good idea to post on the fourms.

Anyway, let's get down to business. I have a simple program here that's just three planets spinning in front of a starry background with music playing (music that I admit I stole from another program, but I'll change that later.)

What I want to do is expand on this. And I'm asking you guys, what can I do? I've thought about putting in some particle effects, and I even tried to figure out how to make a "moon" orbit one of the planets. I'm confused. I hope some of you can help the dumb guy.

First, identify exactly what you want to do. Once that is known, some example code can get written up, a theory explanation written down, and then you'll find your weaknesses depending upon how much of the explanation you understand.

Okay, well, to begin with I want to expand on what I have now. Add some effects to enhance the planets, such as "clouds" and some moons orbiting them. Then I'll go from there. My goal is to create a living universe with planets and comets and whatnot. I've seen this done many times with DarkBASIC, and I like the effect, I just don't know (or understand) how to duplicate it.

If you can't help me, that's okay.
