i yust wanted to make an small post about the grafix sorry for that they maybe aint top notch.
but i thought it was better to cram it to an as small size as possible when it is such an simple game like an snake clone.
so mainly the highest amount of colours is 256 colours and down to 16 colours on the gfx and textures but i belive it dosent show that much during gameplay anyway?

Not bad at all.

Bad things:

1. If you select 'low' detail in options and start game you get "object does not exist at line 320"

2. Game speed varies quite a lot depending how any polygons in camera view. Presume because of all the transparency going on.

3. When game is over, you are shown wireframe view of level and can actually watch each object being deleted!

Good things:

Love the main menu and the various options and help screens. Looks very polished.

Game is ok I suppose but I think you have gone over the top in the graphics department and it doesn't have that "one more go" factor.

Overall though it is shaping up quite well.

Ok fixed the one and only bugg report so far.
going to upload an fixed and better version as soon as i get more reports.
and can please more people test the game and report there speeds in fps and your system specs.
as i only have an 1 ghz and get full 49 fps constantly?
and i havent even installed the latest patch yet.
if you get slowdowns test to turn off ingame cubemapping or aplhablending and report if it helps.
thanks......

I thought the wireframe part was really cool!!

overall the graphics were very nice, especially the menu, it's beautiful!

Sometimes the first cube is quite far from the start position, which makes getting started difficult... I think the very first cube should be reasonably close to the user, or you should have more time at first.

other than that, very cool game!!!

My results are lowest fp=10, highest fps=28 (averages about 14fps)
I get the same results with alpha blending and cube mapping off or on.
My system specs:
AMD 2ghz
512 mb sdram
fx5200 128mb grafix card.

When I try to play with low details get a crash (object not exist)

Like the sounds.
Graphix are very good especialy the menu.
As for gameplay, I would like to play with higher frame rate, when you fix the low detail crash could you upload again?

wow, ejay moosic

nice, but you have a sync problem.

one moment you'll be going fast, the next really slow, and then u shoot off again straight into a hedge, also, when you loose all lives and die and play again, the FPS drops to "unplayable"

hmmm this is strange as i get about 45 to 49 constant frame rate but iam going to trye to see wath could be wrong.
only thing i know right now is that systems with an geforce 4 installed runs the game well?
have everyone disabled firewalls and virus protections before playing as they mess things really up?

For your info:

I get around 55 fps when near edges of maze and around 30 fps in the middle. You need to compensate for this and make speed dependant on current frame rate as currently you whizz around the edges when frame rate is high.

My specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
512MB
MSI GeForce4 Ti4600 (128MB)
XP Home SP2

but when i runs it as an standalone exe so does it drop to constant 42?
so i have to check it out more tomorrow something is wrong that sure.

ok i downloaded the latest 5.6 patch for dbp and registered online.
and the 2 ide patches but now cant i compile anything does only get an error that the compiler have freaked out and crapp.
iam starting to scream that dbp sucks right now constant errors and will probably have to rewrite all my code now after the newer patches?
so i will probably skip the competition all over.

ok something is really wrong with dark basic pro as only the 2 first ways to run your project where the editor first makes an exe works now after the latest patch.
i have always runed my projects in debugger mode when editing?
ok anyway now can i at least continou.

I'm amazed the debugger EVER worked for you!!

the debugger is completely useless, just avoid it for now, and use your own methods for tracking variables, etc...

they have mentioned some fixed in the works for it, but it might not be for a while.

ok now have i tryed to work alot on the speed issues here.
so nead some more testing.
even if you get fps down to 6 so should it work now but optimal is now 33 for compiability issues.
i know that the cubes dont rotate to fast if low fps wanted to se if this works out well first?
http://w1.414.telia.com/~u41404878/CUBEL.ZIP
could be some small glitching if fps change to often in movement but should not affect gameplay.
the size is now 6.5 after the latest patches from tgc did not remove the unused plugins before compiling to exe.

ok i found out of that the game is yust unplayable at the lower fps as i sadly set the counter to fast at the lower fps but now should it be the same at all framerates.
i experimented and lowered the sync rate to simulate an slower cpu and gfx card to be able to test this out hope it helps.
there is no one that have had any problems with the menue?
http://w1.414.telia.com/~u41404878/CUBEL1b.ZIP
thanks for any input.
iam now going to trye to make the game more fun to play somehow?

Hey, really good game, and with fps at about 29 or so on my system, the movement is fluid and sound is not bogged down. No matter what fps says, I see no problems. My computer is 1.8Ghz, & GEForce FX 5200.
