Or download THE GIMP, it's as good as photoshop, but it's free
But sometimes it shuts itself down, for no reason :S

I've used various Paint Shop Pro trials (lifespan of years with 'em all -- gonna get 8 for Xmas I hope) to make my avatars and sigs. Except my current one is from the guys at Bethesda.

N30: It's a volcanic O in Daedric script. You'd have to know a lot of Elder Scrolls (Games-> Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard, Morrowind, Stormhold, Dawnstar, Shadowkey, Oblivion) lore to understand its full implications, but basically it stands for the new game .

Just Ilya.
I made it in Texture Maker and animated in Microsoft GIF Animator.
Was easy (and fun) to make.

And freewebs won't let you link to images.
Get an account on photobucket(.com) or use the link to the one I posted.

1tg46, the white-gold on white-silver is almost impossible to read. There needs to be contrast. Furthermore, it'd look better if you added some kind of a border... don't ask me why, but the transition from silver/white to the Apollo post background is rather glaring. Other than that, it's good.

Fire spheres in Texture Maker work well.
(If you have Texture Maker, go to Special/Sphere/Fire Sphere)

@Ilya
What color did you use to make the background of your image to be transparent?

@N30FI5H
Like text that is textured similar to your image.

Download something called InfranView.
Open your image with it.
Save it as a gif with transparency on.
I will pop up a window with your image.
Click on a color.
It will be the transparent color.

@1tg46

Make a black outline of 1 px around your text, should be much more readable after that.

The only way for an image to invert the thing behind it is for it to be an icon.

Slightly off topic :

@ TheBigBabou

What the hell is that avatar - it looks like a burning Chest-Burster from the alien series. It's kinda psyco in a good way, if you ask me.
