Hi, sorry if this has been asked elsewhere...

I use Windows 2000 and apparently I need to download an SDK to use speech in the Enhancement Pack, so.. do I need 'Speech Application SDK 1.0' or 'Speech SDK 5.1 for windows'. I dont much like the thought of the former download time of 17+ hours on this 56k connection...

OR can I somehow scanvenge this speech malarky off a m8's xp disk?

Thnx.

i dont know if a speech sdk even comes with XP. Best bet is to search the MS website, and download the one you find there.

Hi, thanks for reply.
yeah the only stuff I found were the 2 files I mentioned : Speech SDK 5.1 just unpacks lots of .MSM file types to no particular folder - I have nothing associated to this file type, anyone know how to install these? And Speech Application SDK 1.0 needs lots of other junk installed before it will do anything, besides which 295MB seems like overkill to get something working that realy already works: like MS Narrator.

Anyone else with Win 2000 got Speech from the Enhancement pack working?

BsD, The one I downloaded for windows 2000 worked ok for me, got it from http://www.bytecool.com/voices.htm The 5.0 one. I did notice on the microsoft site there is one with the same name ended in msm which is possibly what you downloaded.

n0id, It's part of the Enhancement Pack released by TGC.

noid, if you have the enhancement pack then there is a sample program that shows it in action.

BTW This is DBPro, not Classic.
