"Sometimes I feel like... checking out..." - U2

That's right before ME3.

I'm leaving for a bit. I'm, how you say, moving across the continent. I will have a bit of downtime, hopefully no longer than a week. Flight leaves about 32 hours from the time of this post.

Destination: Alaska

If one of my planes crashes I'll be sure to post back to let you all know that I'm dead and won't be returning.

I've been working on NGC and after today it should be ready to release. It will not release until I'm back online though. The "release and leave" method has proved to be detrimental previously.

We have some other things releasing as well. Our newsletter will begin to release on time and on a regular basis.

I figure if I go far enough North the "voices" won't be able to find me there and I can get some work done.

Peace

As long as you don't stay on the plane when the pilot says his name and it sounds like he's clearing his throat, you should be relatively alright

Didn't you move not so long ago? Are there "people" catching up with you?

@Raven
lol, agreed. And as I plummet from 10,000 feet you hear the pilot say "sorry, choked on some coffee".

Yes.

...

Do you work for them...?

It was reversed actually. I caught up with them and things got ugly. Now I'm just re-assembling

But then he'll probably land in Canada, and the english canadians will mock his president while the french canadians think he's english and start demanding seperation.

update:

The nice people at the phone company told me it's gonna take 7 to 14 BUSINESS days to hookup my internet. So, while it may seem that nothing is happening for the next half a month, nothing could be further from the truth my friends.

When I get plugged back in, look forward to royal sized launch.

I've got some spare internet in a Netto (US: read Walmart) carrier bag if you need it in the meantime.

Never noticed before.. what a great extremely hot, yet extremely cold place we live in huh?

Hope to see the new upgrade soon Nuclear, and looking very forward to it indeed

I'll consider it. Might just leave it to Rich instead. But if I told you all that then I might start getting bricks through my windows

Thank you kindly. Was a 12 hour trip. I landed near midnight, got to my contact's place, setup my computer systems, and started working on NGC (again).

Was the funniest thing. I was in Denver and my plane had just landed. I looked out the window I was next too (right side) and saw the luggage conveyor coming out from the plane. Then I noticed my overweight box was on the very end of the conveyor.

The conveyor kept rolling, kept rolling, then woops...

there went my box off the end of the conveyor... the conveyor stops.

About 3 minutes later a guy came out and tossed my box upside down on the luggage cart. Normally I wouldn't care except I had computer equipment in these boxes.

The real funny part was when I went to get on the first airplane I had to go through security. I had my UPS unit (backup power supply/surge protector) in my carry on luggage (it's heavy and I didn't want the extra weight in my already overweight boxes).

So, the TSA guys are running my carry-on bag through their scanner. My bag about makes it through, they stop the conveyor, back it up, and examine the dense looking box (in my bag) on their scanner. They ask who's it is, so I give myself up.

Then they took all the stuff outta my bag and pulled out this UPS unit. I explained what it was. Something had been sitting on the unit wrong and the power button got stuck down. So... this little UPS box is sitting there flashing a little red light and beeping at them. They did give my UPS unit back (after smelling it with their machine first).

That was my humor for the trip.

Anchorage. This will be short-lived though. I'm likely to be gone in a few months, headed back to the main country.

(For the record, I'm not fruity and double minded. It's just a complicated set of events.)

Okay... right after the next couple moves

@BatVink
I currently have net access! Well, obviously. The connection is going to be upgraded in about a week.

Thank you kindly. I'm currently just finishing up the memory management. The system is very very modular now, I'm happy with it.

The long part of the precess was setting up the new octree system for performance. Sadly, while this provided the longest time to turn around, it only added about a command or two for BASIC developers. It offers large leaps and bounds in performance, and you can bet I'll be pointing that out left and right. I don't want those 2 extra commands to get overlooked as "nothing".

Right now I'm coding a "no acceleration" sliding mode, that will help keep your characters going down ramps at the same speed they move forward. It's like the "no_grav" option with the cool part that it prevents you from accelerating too fast when moving downhill.

Also, I'm fixing the slope control settings. The current slope control is determined from the slide normal of an ellipsoid, which means that when you change an ellipsoid size it screws up how your ellipsoid reacts to slopes. The part I'm FIXING is an option that lets the ellipsoids respond to the real slope of the geometry regardless of the ellipsoid dimensions. Also, you'll now be able to control these settings "per ellip", so you can have control over each object individually.

I'm also working on proper rotation commands for DB'ers so you can use commands that have the same effect as y rotate and so on. Will be YRotateObjPRO() and so on...

I'm keeping a progress report at:
http://www.nuclearglory.com/php-bin/members/forum.php?user=Guest&hash=&siteCode=1§ion=posts&boardid=10&topicid=125

So... everyone check there for updates on NGC progress.

I'm net enabled earlier than expected. That royal sized launch is around the corner.
