i am going to make a nice water case mod. Basically I will take 2 huge thick plastic sheets and cut em up to make an aquarium shaped case. Ofcourse this will be transparent. Then I am taking my "2ht 2.06 ghz cpu mobo with 16 gig DD2 and placing it securely inside. Then Taking out all of the Fans and making proper waterproof holes for the plugs. Then I will fill the case with Distilled water(Yes, everything will be in water including the mobo). If my mobo still works I will proceed to other components such as custom making bay drives and a nice hole in the middle for a custom made fan.

So tell me what you think? New? Exciting?

I doubt the water will remain pure and unconductive for long. Motherboards and other componants have loads of exposed metal surfaces which will disolve into the water. Thats not even worring about how you are going to make sure everything else that comes into contact with the water won't give up ions.

Please, invite me over to your house the day you attempt to run your motherboard through water and actually plug it into the mains - I'd love to watch that fireworks display (albeit from a minimum safe distance).

Why not getting the components in a freezer ? I heard it's cold in there.

i dont think so.... Rain water isn't pure at all methinks. Distilled water is water that you purify by distillation, in which you evaporate it, and then condense it into a pot, so that you have nice fresh pure water, with a pH of a happy 7.0

Deionized, it's right ... I just tried to translate it from french.

But you would not have looked stupid.

Distilled water is not as pure as deionized water. But to have such a great material to let the water never conduct electricity, it would be cheaper to get liquid nitrogen to cool his system.

rain water isnt pure at all. even when your not in scandinavia, the rain has crap and acid in it.

I used to have a venus fly trap that you needed to give distilled water, and so I was told to give it rain water. It survived quite happily
