I do not want to go on too much, but we should realy keep just one forum.

All DBS have to do is create a DBV1 area on this forum then all the hassle of reading two forums, posting on both forums, answering questions on both forums...... are not there any more. (This sort of thing happened on the DBDN forums)

So errrm, if you agree say so.

Thanks,
Martyn Pittuck.

P.S. I am sure GUY would like to save a few bob on his bandwidth

I guess that would be true, but I see no need in splitting up the different parts of the world.

They shouldn't be closed, I think they would be good for Support reasons in the Americas. I think it would be easier if all DB disscussions were all in one place

The forums provided by Real Game Tools were never a temporary solution. They have always been, and will continue to be open to all DarkBASIC users worldwide (of course, speaking English does help ).

Funny. I just started a thread similar to this one about keeping one forum.

It definitely makes more sense to have just one forum. Like I said, DB and DBPro can share some of the same snippets.

Having more than one forum is just splitting up the community. I can see someone having their own fansite forum but two official forums? Definitely a thorn in the community.

I'm American, I think these forums should be the main ones because they're at the dbpro site. I have signed up in the others but will mainly post here, this one also looks better to my eyes.

Btw when do you think you will be able to buy dbpro in stores like best buy, and comp usa?

Okay here is how it stands:

1) These are the official Dark Basic Software Limited DBPro Forums.

2) The RGT forums are the official Real Game Tools company forums.

3) Each territorial publisher of DB/DBPro is fully entitled to run their own forums for localised support, general discussion, to aid their sales, etc. Hence why we have Russian DB forums, French forums, German forums, etc. Each one of them are official publishers forums.

4) However, these are the official DBPro forums in that they are owned and operated by Dark Basic Software and they are the only forums we have direct 100% control over. Although we'd hate to see it happen, we have no power or control over Guy (RGT) turning his site into a Salsa-dance class site or something similar It's his site after all. To that end we have no control over the content posted on the site, the level of support received or attitude of moderators there. We will not deal with user issues unless they happen here. I think that's a fair enough point to make.

As for adding in some DBV1 forums here, well yes it's perfectly possible and something Rick has mentioned to me already. We will most likely see this happen soon. Even when it does happen RGT (and Germany, France, Russia, etc) will of course all still exist and people are welcome to settle down in whichever community they feel more at home in. I hope that clears up a few things.

Cheers,

Rich

Well put Rich, well put..

As long as DBS has some official forums for DB v1.x then pretty much everyone should be happy..
