Chapter 12 in Beginner's guide to DarkBASIC Game Programming discusses Entry$() and Clear Entry Buffer.

I get compile errors "Function only available in Enhanced Mode" or "Unrecognised parameter" when I attempt to use these commands in DarkBASIC Classic. The same error occurs when compiling the Non-Blocking Input code found on page 369-370.

Chapter 1 page 40 of this text says that the examples are geared for the standard version. Is this an exception?

Actually,
Enhanced is enhaced.

The "Enhanced Version" is refered to as the Enhancement Pack, which you can get with DarkMATTER, buy and download it online, or get a free trial with the 1.13 upgrade.

The enhancement pack brings with it alot of good functionality, like MemBlocks, DLL's, Multiplayer, and obviously access to the window's entry buffer

I installed the 1.13 patch prior to writing this code (in fact I tried to reinstall it again, and it said it was already in place).

Help me with my ignorance, what do I do to access the enhancement pack?

do the commands show up in the help files? (input section..bottom), if they don`t then you may have some problem with the install, if you ever installed the 1.13 patch before (I seem to recall you did in an earlier post a while back) then it may be that the enhanced commands you are trying to use have expired, if thats the case then you can`t just re-install, it`s either the full version or nothing I`m afraid.

ps: check for any of the enhanced commmands, memblocks, internet etc in the help, if they don`t show then it may be that you have already installed patch 1.13 at some point...now that I think about it, didn`t you install 1.13 to cure some graphics problem?, seem to recall something of the kind, if thats the case then even if you didn`t use the enhanced commands at the time, they will have expired by now.

PC1: P4 3ghz, 1gig mem, 3x160gig hd`s, Radeon 9800pro w cooler (3rd gfx card), 6 way speakers.
PC2: AMD 2ghz, 512mb ram, FX5200 ultra, 16 bit SB.
Mini ATX cases suck.
