Actually my grandfather was killed in "friendly" fire by a french man in ww2, so I hate them for that (being an idiot and thinking that he was an evil hitler german) and some of their policies. But, I have a french great grandfather, s I don't hate them as much as I could. And for those of you saying I am a spammer and will never program in DB Go to my download/Dev. Diary! I am programming!! Yaaaaa! I still need a team, if you want goto team requests.

one of my ancestors by chance would have been murdered by some random racial character, how come I don't hate any one based solely on their race?

Guys, don't start the flaming again, JFK is trying to make a fresh start and we don't want things to get out of control again.

well there were 2 british troops killed that i can recall on seperate occassions in afghanistan by americans, and an old man who works at the local bike store was telling me how he was shot down by a US fighter. the irony is that this dude had flown in from the other side of the massive dog fight after receiving a distress call from the US pilot saying he was stranded, isolated and surrounded, so our brit went in to the rescue and the yank shot him down.

now we made jokes about it, but even he doesnt hate the americans for it... but just probably wont trust one ever again.

edit: besides, no disrespect, but how do we know your grandad didnt get caught in crossfire or something where getting killed by your own men was inevitable?

maybe it was like that bit on band of brothers where they ended up in trenches (fox holes) just about 50 m away from teh entrenched germans, and at night the guy goes to wake up one of the soldiers who freaks out and thinks hes a kraut and stabs him with his bayonet, that guy survived though,

Hating, disrespecting, distrusting, etc ANY NATIONALITY because of something an individual did is, in my humble opinion, stupid. Sorry to sound like an after school special here but really people, humans are humans regardless of their skin color and native language. Where you're born has absolutely no bearing on what kind of person you are. People learn certain traditions and values that vary depending on where they are raised, but neither France or America (the countries in question) teach their citizens to be evildoers, so it's pretty brainless to hate citizens of either country just because of what one, a dozen or even ten thousand of them did.

...and his people loved him for it

then you have some president named <<censored>> who goes and does loads fo evil without getting his people to become evil, hence his people hate him.

back to this american government vs france thing:

america (and you have to admit it at this stage) pulled a big mistake. Iraq has no WMD, and as for regime change- well, iraqs now in turmoil, at least sadam was such a harsh leader that order was usually stable cos no-one dared cause a fuss, and the Iraq Body Count now tally's 15000 civilian deaths- well, so much for only attacking militrary installations.

it was france that said "no america your pulling a big mistake" while britiain says "yeh, let's bomb them cos the americans are so cool we cant loose there respect"

imo, france were the good guys here. it takes a true friend to have the balls to tell you when your doing something wrong, whereas britain went ahead and let america get itself into trouble.

yet theres always smacktards that are like "yeh britain and america rule! france are a load of cowards!"

makes me think... all britain has to show in comparison with other countries is military might, but absolutely bog all else. "yeh we saved your ass in WW2" is that all we can say? liek i said, france, and other european countries have everything better than us, and they dont need a military to show it.

its like having a group of kids at school, 10 of them are in a social circle cos they all have social skills, thing to offer each other etc, then u got the retard bully whos like "yeh im hard therefore im better than all your intelectualismjism"

And hitler tought his people to be evil.

Not quite true - most German dirty work was done by the army. And they, just like the country, were fed facts and propaganda that made them anti-Jewish / anti-French etc.

It's easy to feed people information to force them to have specific views. A good example is our western media

Re: Hitler:

Hitler taught his people to be racist, but apart from that most of the atrocities commited by the Nazis were well hidden. Most people in the army didn't even know about the the concentration camps and the Jews being gassed. Hitler was a charismatic evil genius who brought out a buried evil-- beliefs of racial superiority-- and that was the floodgate to all the horrors of the Third Reich. Again, most Nazis did not know about all the evils being arranged by Hitler, and it should also be noted that there were plenty of Germans who opposed the Nazis. Remember that every Nazi was not pure evil; but that regime is an excellent example of how the depths a populace can sink to if they give in to a single evil.

That said, I think comparing Bush and Hitler is ridiculous, and will note that almost every president has some nutty radicals who like comparing them to Hitler.

I very much doubt there are even any WWII vets around today who think 'all Germans are evil'-- I mean, that's just silly ... though it is odd, sometimes, how long it takes for prejudice to fade...

mouse, you'll find that many rememberance day services will have both german and british vets that faced it other at the particular battle (now memorial) ground, and its peaceful enough to bring a tear to one's eye. now consider that in contrast to the hooliganism of england vs germany football matches.

Lol, I think the better rivalries are with Turkey and Argentina. As for Macedonia - they're just a bunch of psychos.
