Since Im big into 2d I just had to make a Tile editor whether I will use it or not. This isnt just for making tile maps though, you can use it to place sprites (Enemies, Barriers, ect) on the screen without having to figure out the X and Y position. Then you can load them infront of say a 640 x 480 bitmap.

Its not a pretty editor with lots of features but it does it job. You can paste the tile image to the screen or you can apply it to the screen as a sprite. One Downside is that I use save and load array so there are 4 or 5 small (2-8kb) files per map. Other than that it works pretty good.

I have put a small amount of remarks and included 2 readmes but if you have any questions email me or post here. Email is skeletorsks1987@yahoo.com

Heres a screen shot of a map I made in the editor with Map info hidden.

Heres the same map above in the Tile map viewer

Unfortunatley I couldnt upload my codes to angelfire... (dont know why...) so heres the download.

Gotta tell Cowy 'bout this, he'll love it.
Looks impressive, tis a pity that I don't do 2D, but Cowy does so it'll help him.

Got anime?I do.

I'll be writing a tile editor shortly for a project. I plan on creating a "tileset" where each tile has an index. Then when saving the map, I'll I have to do is specify which tileset it used and one 2d array of map data.
