Hey Indian Homie G,

You like NHL 2005 eh? That's good to hear. What's your favourite
team? I was working on that game in the summer, and I still don't have my free copy. Do you know how to take a screenshot? If you don't mind, go into the Credits section and wait for the Quality Assurance section to come up. When you see Jake Jensen can you please screenie it and send the screen my way? I would really appreciate that a lot--- I want to add the image to my portfolio.

If you don't know, taking a screenie is very easy. Just press the
PrtScn (printscreen) button in the game, exit and go to a paint program like Paint, and Paste it there.

Thanks again

- Jake

Yeah, it's an awesome game - I love it. But why is it that they only release an SDK for FPS games? I really want to mod NHL.

I'll take the screenshot for you Jeku, it should only take a minute.

Edit:

As my server seems to be down, here's a photobucket upload: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/Exeat/NHL-Jake.jpg

God those credits go by fast.

Yeah, that was one of my issues, but precious coding time was spent on more important things I guess

Thank you very much, by the way! Much appreciated! I've saved the image for my portfolio

The most annoying thing that I dislike is the restriction on the controls, you can change most buttons but the modifier key is 'P', and my layout is basically the default WASD and cursour keys, I'd like to know who thought it was physically possible to press P whilst moving. It's crazy.

Doh, I hate that too I was mainly working on the Xbox and N64 versions, so I didn't know about those awful controls.

Eric T - NHL 2004 is better than 2005 in some ways (i.e. it has Playoffs and Create Player). I would recommend keeping it around

Doh! By N64 I mean NGC of course

Not this year unfortunately. On NHL 2004 I was a programmer and my name is in the credits under Additional Programming. This year they didn't need me (I don't have my degree yet) so I was testing front end for Xbox and NGC.

Go Canucks! (after the lockout that is)

nice, what was 04 written in? C++/C ?

God, I admire all EA sports games, they have ingenious coders and great modelers, always will respect them.

Meaning, there's no season this year, because there was some salary dispute or agreement thing that ran out and they didnt renew, so they cant have a hockey season this year... they might resume and have a shortened season, like what happened in 93-94.

It would be safe to say that most commercial games were written in C, C++, or C#...
