Hey, I've given up on my compo entry, I just can't be bothered. So I've started work on this RPG. It started off as just a small gimick but has grown into the biggest game I have ever written. The development has gone very smoothly so far and I have hardly ran into any problems in the development, a sure sign that I'm getting better and better and coding

Here are some screenshots. Incase you don't know I am a massive God of Thunder fan. God of Thunder was this early 90's PC adventure/logic/action game and I am trying to base this game as closely as possible to it gameplay-wise.

At the moment most of the collision is done. You can pickup objects, talk to villagers, read signs, go inside houses and the tranaction between screens is finished. At the moment the number of lines stands at about 700 for the main game and 600 for the level editor. Different enviroments have different ambience and music. Enemys load but don't move. There will be a playable demo very soon!

Enjoy and PLEASE comment on this as I have put a massive amount of effort into this and my last few WIP threads have just died with no comments...

looks ok, when you get the enemy movement down and the ability to attack poop yourself out a demo. Oh and what kind of attack system will it be, real time or turn based?

It'll be realtime attacking. I am aware my websites are down but my photobucket acount should be ok...

I programmed all the collision manually . Its my own super-speedy code

have you tried turning mipmapping off??

i think it will improve the graphics...but it might slow it down too much...so just try it

I purposely turned Mip Mapping ON because I thought that it would improve the graphics because the floors looked kinda poo but it made it worse. Is mip-mapping automaticly turned on? I'll have a look later.

He has no weapon. Is it all magic? If so have you got any cool effects? Are you gonna fix the squareness of the levels or is that part of the designs?

The sqareness is part of the design, when you walk of the edge you come on to the next screen sorta like the old Zeldas.

The player is DarkMatter. The NPC's are also DarkMatter with altered textures.

The attacking is a suprise
