About a week ago I tried to open DBPro and it wouldn't run. So I figured that if I reinstall it, perhaps it would work. Unfortunatly it didn't. So today I formatted the HD and reinstalled windows, still, DBPro refuses to work.

Heres that bloody error message that pops up on WinXP:

I tried running DBPro both unpatched and with the 5.2 patch, and nothing. I'm going to download the latest patch soon but does anyone have any idea whats going on?

Peace sells

All I can suggest is latest patch, latest DX and latest drivers.

(also - may want to post a transalation for those who can't read French although I stumbled through it)

btw- I love the nice "demarrer" button

Its probably exactly the same as any error message you get in WinXP, I mean, when a program does something it shouldn't.

I have the latest DX, And as I'm sure when DBPro first loads up it doesnt use directX straight away, does it?

Don't we all

EDIT:

eh.. have you tried a third party IDE... is it the compiler or IDE? Have you upgraded to the latest version of the default IDE?

Yeah I did recognise it as the usual crash screen, but some people might not have (don't know why not, considering DBPro's stability at times ).

The thing is, it has always worked before for me.

GAH. I had it working earlier, now its broken again. Time to look at an alternative IDE! Oh or I could um..get the upgrade for the default IDE and see if that helps.

Oh hey I just installed the IDE patches and the new compiler patch. Well, the official editor still only works when it wants but at least I can use the compiler if I use another IDE. Thanks for the help guys, its much appreciated.

Peace sells
