So how are you going to prevent users from using other perspectives?
How can you make the users move a camera but at the same time limit it to FPS view ?

Well, for one thing, moving the camera around might also drag the HUD with it. That would create more of a flying/moving on rails effect than a full 3D camera. Also, your player model may not be visible to yourself. So, zooming back might show a gun floating where the player's camera view used to be. I can image a few other obstacles from a programmer's perspective.

I'm not going to have cow over it, although from a designer's perspective I think I would have tried to build that capability in from the beginning.

I'm sure some work arounds can be done

Of course. FPSC does not try and deliberately limit what you can do with it.

What TGC are trying to stress is that FPSC was not designed for third-person games, so don't complain if it doesn't have all the features necessary for that type of game.

What I think one of the biggest issues is being able to control the camera in cut-scenes or in an in-game out-of-body experience (one game that I know has it is Psi-Ops) which would make a game that much better...

I think that the original question can be answered in the following way:

Camera position = Player position

Cutscenes won't be impossible, but you may find it difficult to get the camera view that you are after.

Well if the scripting is as flexible as I think it is, this won't really stand in someone's way lol, but we'll see I guess.
