Heya People
It’s been ages since I joined these forums and now I think I’ve got some stuff worth showing.

========================================
Info on the smoke and flames demo here !

========================================

I’ve stuck a zipped version for you old fashion types out there, and also a 7zip file for those out there who use that (if you don’t use it already… Start using it, it saves me space!)
Ok the Links
http://www.baggers.lowftp.com/FlamesSmoke.zip
http://www.baggers.lowftp.com/SmokeFlames.7z

(Special thanks to Paul Johnston <Sparky> for the collision dll, without it my physics engine would not be and thus neither would this demo…Sparky, take a bow *the masses applaud*)

Next on the agenda – Throw cat out window for sitting on keyboard.
…Done

Next on the To-Do list – Pathfinding
====================================
Pathfinding info here

====================================
Ok so, as before the files, in zip and .7z formats

http://www.baggers.lowftp.com/BinaryStar.7z
http://www.baggers.lowftp.com/BinaryStar.zip

And for those who wont download without a screenshot (I don’t blame you !)

And Lastly…
I have a glass demo on the way soon, in which a piece of glass with specified width and height and polycount can be made and textured and then shards broken out from it which will cascade down. Its coming along pretty well, I think it looks ok but I would appreciate your opinion on the following screenshots (oh they look better in motion trust me !)

http://img96.exs.cx/img96/6899/Glass3.jpg

Ok Everyone, that’s it from me, im gonna shut up and let you take over….now all I have to do is get that cat fixed !

Cya

Ps. I am just starting to use lowftp.com for storing my files, I have no idea how suitable this will be so if you have any problems please inform me, and any suggestions on what to do, I am a complete newbie to the world of hosting. Thanks.

The smoke demo's pretty nifty. ^_^ But that glass thing looks really cool.

Mayhaps you'll one day release the source to these? :-P

Thanks Epsilon, glad you liked them.
I noticed you omitted the pathfinding, any particular reason or that just not your field (i know i can not seem that interesting if you arnt into that sort of thing)

As far as opening the source, im a little hazy about doing this just yet as ive been toiling on this little physics engine for ages and im still in the "<hug code> its mine! all mine !" phase ..! (when ive got some project done with it or i recode a newer version ill probably release this code, its all writen in native dbcode though !)

For anyone who wants to know how any of these demos work I can happily explain.

Oh finaly what kind of fps were ya getting epsilon ?
Thanks

wow!! the smoke & fire demo is really impressive! The smoke reacts really well, and very smooth!

my only suggestion would to place a yellow\red colored dynamic light at the flame, so the objects are lit by the fire as well!

but, very, very impressive demo!

BAH BUMHUG....
good old lowftp was too good to be true, i think im cursed, i held on to a dpspot acccount for the same ammount of time !
However for anyone who wantsa copy of anything on this post then just post and say so and ill email it to you the next day, I advise getting 7Zip as the file sizes are reduced to just over half they would be in a zip. (file sizes are at the end of this post)

Anyway back to business, Thanks walaber for such great comments, im more used to looking at stuff in newton and going 'wow now how could i do that ?' When you say dynamic lights do you mean standard DBP lights or something else (i think coding my own lighting is still out of my reach)-(would be a nice challenge though !)

Anyway thanks again i hope to sort out a new host v.soon

ps. File Sizes
Fire and smoke demo
Zip = 4,172 kb
7Zip = 2,477 kb

Pathfinding
