how do you apply different testures to the induvidual faces of a cube?

Well, bad news there. Your best bet would be to create a cube in a paint package (like GameSpace Lite which is free). Failing that you could try using individual plains or look into SET CUBE MAPPING ON, however, I don't think it was really built for that (it's more of an environment effect).
