I could have a go at a theme but do you want it written out or as a sound file. If so what format because the only format I can do is .cda.

Not sure if DBC runs that. But it would be great.

The game is supposed to look cartoony, so Paint was very helpful, as was The GIMP, But it's mostly paint.

Also, if you want to get a good look at the art the space bar zooms you in.(But it makes it harder to see enemies.)

Great game! Runs a little slow but I can see the game has been done very well. The graphics in the start screen and loading screen are surprisingly good considering the components . In the selection screen, why does it run so slow? Try setting the sync rate to 60 and make sure the knift or whatever that thing is is a sprite so you don't have to keep redrawing the background.

The reason its .cda is because I have a multitrack recorder which burns CDs. Maybe I could convert it to wav because DBC can support that. I'll have a go and upload something when its done.

It is a sprite, and I think that might be why, but I usually just put the fps at 0(so it goes to the highest possible). But thanks anyway!

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions, beacause this game seems kinda like it's missing something.

Um ok I can't believe I played this game for as long as I did... I got all the way past the Hippy girl and the "inbetween" screen didn't really exist... then a GIANT FOOT came down?

It was quite fun, some good points:

1) Sense of humor for things was quite funny. Death scenes were really funny. Don't need the rapist due to the inuendo with the aliens.
2) Enemies turned smoothly
3) Controls were nice and responsive.
4) Different enemies that behaved differently (movement, death, etc.)

Some things to work on.
1) Enemies should move smoothly, or at least the dogs should, they kinda jump ahead a little.
2) A point system with a timer for bonus points?
3) Cat with gun should actually shoot (slow moving) bullets, otherwise what's the point of having the gun?
4) Sometimes it looks like enemies pop in right on top of me. Maybe increase the range where they would generate?
5) Put in some obstacles to make the boards different. Stuff like bushes, maybe manholes where enemies/player will fall into, etc.

Now what's missing?
Powerups of some kind. a) Something to make the dogs come towards you for 20 seconds, perhaps a whistle? b) Ability to use SOME kind of weapon, even once, like a bomb? c) Something to make enemies flee from you for a short time.

Anyways good game it was fun.

Another thing, put a limit on the amount of enemies made, and adjust the camera range, because all the objects are problaly in range at the same time even if you can't see them, so adjust it accordingly..

Yeesh Manticore.. Your making me feel bad for not having any work to show off for myself. I understand the whole marks part though, doing the same before i start any major projects(Besides for computer science course).

[edit] Seems my computer wont allow me to download the file due to security reasons.. Any chance you could zip it a different way/different website, or send it to my msn messenger?

Wow. Very clever use of sound and graphics.

The 3D models were excellent! They were simple, yet extremely artistic and appealing.

The sound was good too!

I really loved the loading screen, where you would read about the next level. The gradient in the sky was nice, and I really liked the buildings. The windows didn't line up totally straight like they do in real life, and that's what I liked about them. They They have a really unique feel to them.

The concept is great!

You know how when Pac Man eats a power pellet, he can eat the ghosts? Well, what if, the vet runs into some sort of power up, and then his wife will come back from the dead with a chainsaw and guard you for 15 seconds from all enemies. Like she could cut them up or something...

I already put in one Item, Expresso, that makes you hyper for a few seconds, but it needs some music(I was trying to make it like in sonic). An ally with a chainsaw would be cool, But I how about a celebrity, like maybe Richard Simons(Not sure how I'd model him). I was also thinking about a Micheal Jackson mask that scares everyone away.

Fixed it already. But the Items I put in, slowed it down too much, so I had to remove them. But at least the code's a little bit faster now(beacause I tried to keep the Items in, but couldn't slow it down enogh).

But I did add on thing that doesn't slow it down too much, There's a passed out bum on the street, might make him effect gameplay some how, but just for decoration now.

I really liked the game, though my computer's too slow to run it at any decent speed. The art is fantastic, and I think it would be good with some heavy metal.

I think the others are right, you need some power ups, or ways of attacking the enemies to make it a bit more interesting.

Keep it up.

Hi, thanks Joe.

I got a few questions for anyone out there, does anyone know haw to totally clear the RAM through DBC beacause I figured out that Runtime Error 6(which is back) is beacause The computer's out of memory. So I'm gonna try and make more.

BTW, has anyone else got a RunTime error 6, ever.

Does the theme need to be perfectly loopable or can it die off at the end? How long does it need to be?
I can make .wav now so its not a problem.

It needs to be as small as posible because this game is getting slow. Thanks in advance.

New Demo up soon(tonight if you resond to my question before I go to sleep)! K, I've got it all pretty and pretty much devoid of problems. Now I put in some speacial dogs(a french poodle worth 2 dogs, and a chawawa that makes you go fast). Do you think they should say the samething when they die as the other dogs or say "AIE CARAMBA!" and "AIDEZ MOI!"?

Hi Andy, I just listened to your songs. And well, it's too quiet, I was thinking more loud violent music, like thumping kinda stuff with lots of bass and more in your face. Just note this is not going to be background music. But that's just my 2 cents.

Hey ho everyone, I think I will go commercial with this. I am still contemplating wheter I should give it to the forums for free yet(everyone who helps gets it free too, of course). I have a new version, and if anyone wants to beta test the new one, then send me an e-mail at manticore@fleaware.tk, or post, and I'll send you a beta file.

EDIT: Actually if its a matrix I'll help you convert it to use a plain, much faster

For me, everyone keeps poping up at about every half a second and I can only get halfway done before I die. Or is that normal?
