I'm really scared that only one person mentioned Duke Nukem 3D!! Since when have these "modern games" been "better" than old? I personally think Pong should be at least in the top 10.

I bet when Pong came out, people then played that longer than people now play Serious Same!! Lol..

Those are a few that come to mind.

For those that like racing games, google Live For Speed and GET IT!! I personally think it has THE BEST physics engine I have ever seen for racing games. It just feels real. I have found no better adrenaline rush than racing neck and neck with another human in this game. Best of all, the demo is free and fully playable. The fully version (Stage 1) has more tracks and cars.

Vietcong is a brilliant game, in my opinion. I have met a lot of others that say otherwise. There is a custom map called speedball (and another similar called hardball) that is really small and SO fast paced.. average life expectancy < 10 seconds!!). Its LOADS of fun...

I nice fun map for Far Cry is "Buggy Fun".. I think.. Basically its an arena of buggies and your ONLY weapon is a rocket launcher with 999 ammo. Again - life expectancy is not great.. And the map needs to be reset every 5-10 mins!!

I remember Moonstone from the amiga, tho I know you can get it for the PC if you still use DOS. It was a brilliant game.. Might even make it for DB if I even get the ability to stop time and do EVERYTHING I ever wanted to do

My top-ten in this order:

1. Doom/Doom2/Final Doom (nope, not Doom 3, wasn't like the others, but I probably wasted 1/4 of my youth playing Doom)
2. Half-Life and its offspring (Surely HL2 will make it up here when I play it)
3. Max Payne 1&2 (Bullet Time, me like)
4. Goldeneye (Wasted away many an hour playing this)
5. Metal Gear and its offspring (Tactical Espionage, don't mind if I do)
6. Duke Nukem 3d (/me still waits patiently for Duke Nukem Forever)
7. Unreal and its offspring + sequels (Especially UT2k4)
8. Grand Theft Auto series (From the 2d to the 3d, all great games, might move up in rank with the most recent one )
9. Commander Keen (also provided me with so many hours of enjoyment)
10. Doom 3 (as I said, just wasn't the kill-fest the series was known for.)

Hmm.. FPS's ARE action games in my opinion.. I dont think you can really call UT a "thinking persons" game.. Its often a frag-fest!
