i never understood how to get geocities to allow you to offer
files for download.

i went with website source, my own find, becuase i don't know any
of the web-design languages , and have to say that their
'site studio' built-in web design thingy is only mediocre at best.
everything else is pretty good about their hosting.
none the less, i now have a website:
