Hi, I'm new to Dark Basic, just bought it and got it installed. I decided to test it out using the (print "Hello World") command. However, when I compile and execute, the screen where it displays the text output flashes constantly. It still displays the text, but it flashes like a crappy old Black and White film reel. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Has anyone else had this annoying little problem?

Thanks for any help.

Happened to me when I up-graded to WinXP, which you probably have. god only knows why it happens (although the team might have an incling), but its not important. just put a "cls" right at the start at any code you produce. you will notice that if you have a program with a "cls" then it will flash up to the point that it reaches the "cls". sorted.
on a mildly unrelated subject, what are your plans for productions?

You can do that, as well as upgrading to version 1.13, as this provides a fix for the issue.

To upgrade, there are instructions at the top of this board.

Jess.

thanks for the replys, I think I'll try that patch out.

Also, to Monty87, thanks for asking.
My plans are eventually to make a nice freeware 3D RPG about FFVII quality. I'll use this, along with my game design portfolio to get hired as a game designer. I'm currently enrolled in a game design program at Pittsburgh Art institute, but we don't really do any programming here, so I want to learn some on my own.

How about you?
