[EDIT]: Expect the chat to start around 9PM EST!

Triple_H of the Chattingaway IRC network (the network that the official darkbasic IRC room is hosted on) bears exciting news!

Jason Morales from S2Games will be coming soon. He is the lead programmer of S2games (www.s2games.com) and has worked on Savage: The Battle for Newerth and the SILVERBACK engine.

He will be doing a Q&A for those interested in learning C++. This is a nice way to get your question answered quickly! UPDATE: Jason plans to arrive around 9PM.

Here is the info you need to get connected:
You will need an IRC client, or you can use the Java one on this site or on www.chattingaway.com

Connect to irc.chattingaway.com
Join #coding (type /join #coding in the client window)
TIME: 9PM EST

If you have any questions, please ask in this thread, or contact me through email, AIM, or the IRC network.

Thanks, hope to see you there!

Might be a bit hasty but I think this really is big news for a programming oriented community, so I'm going to sticky it. Thanks for the update !

Yeah, but apparently the topic was changed without permission and Mnem got angry. (It's Understandable!)

#coding was chosen because it represents more of an overall programming room... I guess.

Anyway, yeah, I am coding a Qserve bot like #darkbasic usually has, this should be a nice little session. If you have been to one of the #darkbasic Q&A sessions with the TGC team, it will be something like that...

Assuming it hasn't happened yet, that would be in approximately just under 22 hours time, right? I'm not good with time zones...

zero, the CRIRC/QServe version is 99% done and will be ready for testing when you get back from school. I'll be on irc.

Yes, when I logged on yesterday and saw the topic had been changed and seemed to have nothing to do with DB/DBP I changed it back to its normal state. Last night I readjusted it to mention this event in #coding.

who changed the topic of #darkbasic to begin with?

Does it really matter? Seems like people are always uptight about that in the IRC, but really, it's not like the topic's the holy grail or the crown jewels

I found it to be pretty interesting. For those of you that missed it, he plans to eventually come back... so stay tuned.

Stupid Jimmeh .

Is there any chance of having the second half of the session (if there is one), not at 2am Britain time , or at least have us able to put in questions way beforehand (like 9pm gmt beforehand)?

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

Thats a good idea, I'll keep that in mind.

Next time this happens, we can have whoever is running the bot (it was Aura this time, I got home late ) start it early. It would actually be good if Aura ran the bot again, considering he is from the UK.

Next time there is a session like this, I will let you guys know when you can come in and submit questions.
