I think it would be awesome to have a Hall of Fame for the very best Dark Basic games.

It would be like a super-showcase and when someone comes and says "Yo fr'eel wot DBz can do?" We can just send them to the HOF and they're jaws will drop.

I think there should be one or two games that show off a certain aspect of DarkBASIC or a certain genre.

I nominate:

DUO to show off 2D
Firewall to show RTS is possible
Room war to show graphics
Walaber's Wolf entry to show physics is possible.

There are loads others from the last compo as well (OIE springs to mind)

When they finish that 3D MMO thang it should go in.
If someone with decent bandwidth could host all the files it would be awesome.

So start nominating entries!

How about a hall of fame competition?

To see which is the very best dark basic classic/pro
of all time! That would be cool! And other people can enter
to see if they can win a prize?

I'm with Exeat, besides the fact all unfinished games would go into the Hall of Shame and the "MMORPG" section would be filled within seconds.

teh Chaos HizZle should go in once it's done .

Definetly Firewall though, haven't tried any of the others.

Also Nukesoft's idea wasn't bad...possibly.

indeed, Firewall is the best game out there in my opinion...

-thanks for the mention, too bad my entry was more bug-ridden than an anthill

but just wait, the next release of Newton (and my wrapper for it) will blow you away. it's friggin' amazing all of the new features coming out. seriously there'll be no excuse for games to not have fantastic physics now.

Wow, I'm stunned. I would like to thank everyone for their gracious compliments on Firewall, but it would never have made it to where it is if it wasn't for all you people on this forum that helped me test it and gave all the good feedback (you all know who you are)

@Walaber: sounds awesome, I was thinking of adding some cool physics for Firewall 2...dang, I can't stop thinking about a sequel even though I haven't finished the first one...

A hall of fame sounds pretty cool, but I would have to go download some DB games and try them out before I could vote, I have to admit that I haven't played very many of them

The only problem with your idea is that is is really difficult to compare games with completely different genres, for example, a racing game and a first person shooter
