This is because it's quite old and maybe because:

...but believe me it was very impressive!!!

Uploading now....

Some Notes:
The demo just allows you to run skrimishes, thats basicly the fun part. There is a major error that I have yet to address, after a battle, win or loose, if you click on "Return to Main" menu, it will give you a windows error and shut down my program. It has something to do with the massive deleting and reloading between the menu and the accual game engine. So if plz look into that if you know a think or two on how DBPro handles that.

It is open source and media since I basicly just zipped the whole projects folder. The .exe is called "Enders Board" but it officialy has no title, that name was just what it started out to be, if anyone has read Enders Game.

Read the README, it helps explain how to navagate through the menus and ingame hotkeys thats very useful.

Here you go:

Enjoy... Feedback/Problems plz tell me.

That... Was... Superb...
Firstly, the presentation was incredibly.
Secondly, the gameplay was pretty darn nice.

The only thing that holds this game back, is my computer, it ran at a speed that made playing annoying, but not impossible.(Varied between 0 and 30fps-ish, but mainly around the 20fps mark) Hopefully by the time you finish this, i might have a new ultra fast comp

I forgot to add in the readme - If u press shift or enter you can switch into spectator mode where you can view the battle in a closer, ship to ship perspective, using the arrowkeys and mouse to cycle threw ships and views.

Do you get that error when you try to return to the main menu?

also i couldn't figure out how to zoom in the camera so everything looked reallll tiny (but that may have been my fault for not reading the readme)

Yeah, try not to put so many ships on each side, the performace decreases with more vessels to calculate... also zoom is +/-

Quote: "the performace decreases with more vessels to calculate"

ahh...that must have been the problem...i had about 20 ships on my side and 2 on their side...

you should put a limit on the number of ships, to make sure nobody puts too many in and ends up with a un-playable game...(them not knowing how much "too much" is)

yeah, but some computers can take more then others, besides, I like to mess around with diffrent scenarios, fighter wars are awsome, put entire squadrons of just fighters on each side, watch em duke it out in intersteller dog fights. It will only look cool if u press shift/enter to get into spectator mode tho.

Will download later. I like the name, I presume it's from the space colony when Ender leaves Battle School, I think it was Commander School or something of the sort?

hey, mindstorm,
this looks like a really cool game/idea,
and your presentation is very cool.
you are a skill graphic designer certainly.

dbp programs always run a bit slow on my machine (15-55 fps)
but yours ran at 6-8
so i went in and edited your code,
and still can't get it to speed up.

i removed 3d sounds, all music, replaced the capital ship
with a low poly model, remmed out certain large .jpgs
that aren't used in the demo and i can't get it
past 8 fps.

does anyone else have ideas on how to make this run faster?
(this is not criticism, because most people have better
graphics cards than i do, i just want to play your game.)

bob
