Tankoids by er.... someone other than me.

VLM and Silent Strike are very good.

Just look at the screenshots and see what catches your eye.

Lawn Mower is quite good. I also tried Caterpillar Revenge, which is good to chill out to.

There was another game aswell.... what was it called?

Tankods or something... maybe Tenkoids.

I seem to remember it was me who told you to enter Kiss My Asp, wasn't it?

Part of solving the problem is actually noticing that the problem is there in the first place

Have only played 2, Tankoids is loads of fun and great for when you're bored con amigos. Silent Strike, I found it a bit boring.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything terribly exciting yet, don't get me wrong, there are some really great games, but nothing has got me hooked (yet) like the original Snake and Tanks did. Tankoids was pretty good, but when I dealt the final, shattering blow on my opponent, my computer froze up and I had to reset it.

I've tried all the 3 stars except Kiss My Asp, Silent Strike, and Zeyland Rescue. Hopefully one of those will stand out even more than the others.

Edit: Well, Silent Strike was disappointing, like it says in the review, items in the 'shop' cost way too much money and you'll run out of ammo very quickly making the second level very difficult.

Kiss My Asp didn't even work for me, which is a shame because I was really looking forward to it, everytime I try to start the EXE, I get a "Runtime Error 1505 - Display using 32 bit is not supported by available hardware at line 0" error message, changing to 16-bit gives me the same message but with 16 instead of 32. How odd, anyone else encountered this?

Well I won't mention my game but my wife says try Ant Academy - a knicker-gripping rollercoaster ride of heavenly gaming goodness.

Apart from that my favorites are:
Virtual Lawnmower
Tankoids
Fantom Subdivision A
Centipede

Try Ring Worm if you're looking for a real challenge. It got 2 stars mainly because I (I mean the author) made it too damn hard and used midi for my music. If anyone can complete it then I'll be quite impressed - its not impossible but its extremely difficult.

Now if only I could remember whose game it was...

Simple... yet fun!

Yes, actually I have just now! (and I'm the author )

It seems to be a monitor problem ... sound bizarre I know but it works perfectly on my home PC and yet today I took my PC to work to show off my game and got the exact error message you described.
That was using my PC but on a different monitor. When I got home I tried it again and it worked fine.

I am very confused but I will look into it.

Catapillar's revenge and virtual lawn mower were great games. Also, tankoids was very well done!

Haven't played too many of the other games, but will when I have time.

Well, it started working after a reboot but a little later in the day it stopped working again. I think it may have something to do with running other 3D applications, in my case, I think it stopped working after I ran NHL 2005. I'll have to double-check.

There was this game that was a lot like that old snake game you can find on your cellphones. That was fun

My favourite three for sitting down and really playing would have to be Battlefield MT, Kiss My Asp and either Singed Earth or Tankoids. Lawnmower is great for a quick game, but the others you can really get into.

Lol... The only ones my dial up has been able to download as of yet are Tankoids and Burnt Soil. Both were pretty fun. Tankoids was very enjoyable although the terrain gave some players a huge advantage. I liked the Tank Shop in Burnt Soil and the gameplay was pretty fun, but the level was a bit overcrouded and the AI opponents were perfect shots...lol

Currently Downloading... Ant Acadamy... ... ... ... 16%...lol

[Edit]
BTW: I was told by a guy, who heard it from a friend, who new a girl that might of overheard someone saying that Singed Earth was a fun game!
