Has anyone experienced this..

I create an object at one point in the code and later on I clone that object. Problem being that the cloned object is untextured.

What confuses me more is that I have another object which is produced in the same way and cloned in the same chunk of code and yet this one is cloned with textures intact!

I went on to test by loading the working model in to the non-working object and it didn't clone correctly, so it can not be an error with my models.

Any ideas or past experience with this?

Cheers

Only ever problem I had with this in the past was when I created a model in 3ds max, and then when I converted it the textures didn't appear. Well...the textures and the model need to be in the same directory when you convert them and when you use the model in db.....but I guess that doesn't solve your problem!

If we could strike, I guarantee you there would be martial law.

Yeah I found a dodgy solution to the problem. I am loading a bunch of ovjects all at once something like this:

The objects would load ok but only the first one would clone correctly.

I went on to load more objects and test them and found that only the second and third objects loaded wouldn't clone. Now I tried swapping the order round and loading different files to diferent object nos etc but basically it was always the second and third objects loaded that wouldn't clone!!! Totally bizzare so basically I have now put some null objects in to be loaded 2nd and 3rd and now it all works hunky dory!

Things I've learned about cloning: Cloning objects with flat planes will cause DB to error. Cloning objects with multiple materials does bizare things. Material 0 in any mesh seems to be the one that DBP recongnizes best.

Have you tried loading a mesh and then a texture and taking those and puting them together?
