i've managed to make a halfway decent level editor that incorporates newton via walabers wrapper *thanx. it's for an upcoming game i'll be calling "the lone danger" (cat burglar game).

there's an interactive help marquee type thing i whipped up (with seinfeld and einstein quotes as well) to help you get used to the controls etc.. if the quotes get on your nerves, you can just delete the help.txt file. also, there is a controls breakdown in the readme.txt file. to display a new tip/quote, press F9

you can download the LITE zip (no exe (compilation needed) + media included) here:
http://www.admiralgames.uni.cc/LoneDangerMapEditorLITE.rar
or you can download a bigger zip (exe and media included) here:
http://www.admiralgames.uni.cc/LoneDangerMapEditor.rar
or you can download a medium sized zip (exe ONLY!, no media) here:
http://www.admiralgames.uni.cc/LoneDangerMapEditorEXEONLY.rar
(thanx Antdizzle for hosting)

download whichever you need, run it, press F4 to load a map, and arrow up/down til you get "rube.tld" and hit enter. then press N to newtonize everything (and N again to stop/reset newton).

here's a very crappy video of the editor in action (winRAR needed for decompression):
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/xt/xt_apollo_download.php?i=447641 (i'll work on a better one. it's hard to cram alot of nice video into 1MB )

any suggestions or comments are certainly welcome

looks pretty cool!! although more than a "level editor" it seems like a Rube Goldberg (is that name right?) contraption designer... either way very cool!

Newton can also be used in conventional level designers to placing objects... just drop them on the world, and wait for them to settle... then by recording the position and rotation, you know where to place objects so they look naturaly placed.

yeah, Rube Goldberg is correct. i'm still in the testing/debugging stage so i figured a rube goldberg type device would be appropriate.

thanks again wrappy wrapperson, couldn't have done it without your hard work

BTW, did it run without problems?
